Moonlighting On the Internet

Get ready for a long blog.  This is going to be an ebook and Im providing a few pages of the book on this blog.

I had the idea for this book for quite a while but it was in reading Moonlighting On The Internet and preparing for writing the eBay chapter that I realized I could add tremendous value beyond the information provided in Yaniks book. This will be my last blog on Yaniks book and my overall review of the book is that it provides a lot of good information to start from but it is not complete. For instance the ebay section gives a good background about how to create an auction and how to testy and market product but it does not provide much information about product sourcing. Every section in Yaniks book seems to be missing a key piece of information.

Since I had spent a lot of time researching product sources I decided I would publish a short e-book on finding product sources. Below is a small section of the entire book which covers:

The first e-book I ever published was from e-bay on product sourcing and I was so disappointed with receiving a link of URLs that I decided to do my best to provide valuable content and thought along with the URLs and my experiences in finding drop shipping resources. I hope you enjoy the read:

World Wide Brands - This site was started by Chris Malta. He was one of the original eBay masters and has a daily web cast on product sourcing.

Access to his site costs $300 but is very worth while since you can search for any product idea you have. I have found everything from books to science kits, to sports collector items, to tools for web page automation on this site. Chris offers a free eBook on product sourcing which you can view by choosing the banner below.

The below banner brings you a video that provides a fantastic overview of what product sourcing is and how to get started in business.

The other very valuable tool that World Wide Brands provides is instant market research on a topic or idea.

So you enter your topic ie. Science kits and perform a search. All the suppliers are returned to you in the suppliers tab. You can drill in from there. The initial market research bar shows a percentage analysis of how often the term is searched on the web. You can see the Market Research bar on the above picture on the right hand side. You can drill into this analysis by viewing the Analysis tab, Demand tab, Competition tab, Advertising, tab and Auction Pricing tab. All this information provides a strong background for determining if you are researching a product that will sell well. See examples of each of the tabs below.


Analysis Tab - Provides a more in depth description of the market analysis bar.

Demand Tab  Provides a list of key words that are related to the term you entered when looking for suppliers.

Competition Tab  Provides the number of products being sold via Yahoo, eBay and Google with the specific search term you used to search for product.

Advertising Tab  Provides a listing of PPC (Pay Per Click) ads on Google that are selling product with the same key words.

Auction Prices Tab  This tab provides a view of all the current auctions that meet the key word you entered when looking to sources your product on the suppliers tab.

I may have forgotten to mention that the best part for this site is the $300 dollar membership is a lifetime membership. In the year and six months since I joined this site they have release on major redesign and added an incredible volume of training material. If you are looking to source product on line this sites training materials are worth the $300 alone. I would easily pay 3 times as much for the value provided.

XOBNI - Increddible new tool

WOW!!!!

I don't usually get this excited about tools but the Xobni email tool is like steroids for your email productivity. I no longer have to look up phone numbers, I can find any person I need who I have ever emailed or anyone that was on an email chain. I know who I communicate most with and I'm even thinking about starting a compotition for top spot.

Life Lessons and Valuable Resourcesb

A little over a year ago I was introduced to the world of personal improvement. I work in information systems and I was talking with a computer architect whom I respect. He handed me a set of CDs when I was having a particularly had time with work and said listen to this.

The CD set was by Anthony Robins. I had never listened to any of his stuff but for some reason thought he was a quack. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!

Tony robins taught me about goal setting, he taught me about how to talk to my self, he taught me about how I can work better with others, he taught me that I wasn't finished with learning just because I had finished my MBA a few years back.
